PROGRAMS
We have other programs dedicated to helping indigent or disadvantaged communities.
Many of these initiatives fall under the Parish Outreach Programs. Recently, we have also extended support to the scholarship program of the Vicariate of Our Lady of the Abandoned (VOLA+), to which our parish belongs.
The main goal of conducting these other programs is to provide basic needs, medical care, and basic education for disadvantaged groups in our neighboring communities.
We support these additional causes because they further our main mission: to alleviate the sufferings of the poor and disadvantaged. We welcome assistance in any of these projects, and will respond to calls to support similar noble causes.
BEC Feeding Programs
COPA contributes to the feeding projects of different Basic Ecclesial Communications (BECs) and organizations of St. James the Great Parish. These feeding programs target the malnourished children from neighboring communities within Muntinlupa and Las Piñas. Nutrition and weight gain are strictly monitored. Mothers of the children are also involved in the project.
Adopt-A-Family Program
Every December the BEC’s host a Christmas party for the street cleaners and other workers of the village. COPA contributes to this project by providing for gift packages worth P1,000 per package per family.
St. James Renewal Movement
The Mission Ministry of the
Renewal Movement conducts medical missions at least 4 times a year COPA usually helps in the purchase of medicines during these medical
missions.
Casa Miani San Jose
This is an orphanage run by Somascan priests. COPA helps in the education of the children in the orphanage.
SOS Children’s Village
This is a foundation dedicated to children who lost parental care (orphaned, abandoned, and neglected). COPA provides for their basic needs, i.e. basic education and food.
Pangarap Foundation, Inc.
This is a shelter for street children. It creates a positive future for street children and their families.
AJ Kalinga Foundation
This foundation has the Paghilom Program which is to heal and rebuild the lives of the victims of various crimes and incidents, as well as widows, orphans, and family members of the extra-judicial killing (EJK) victims.
This is a new outreach created to help in the scholarship program for the eight (8) parishes under the Vicariate of the Our Lady of the Abandoned and the Holy Family Parish in Las Piñas.
